El Greco is a 1998 classical album by Greek electronic composer and artist Vangelis (born March 29, 1943). The title is a reference to the man who inspired the composition, Dominikos Theotokópoulos (known as El Greco, "The Greek"; 1541–1614), the painter and sculptor of the Spanish Renaissance. It consists of ten long movements performed on electronic instruments.
This portentous tribute to Domenikos Theotokopoulos (16th-century painter "El Greco") divides its ten tracks among as many separate movements (complete with a disc-closing "Epilogue") and explores them with all the excitement of a day at the art gallery (this concept was, in fact, inspired by the National Gallery of Greece's efforts to obtain El Greco's "St. Peter"). Which means it's very studious, very meticulous, and very good for you, but ultimately the (very few) thrills here are intrinsic at best and not really all that thrilling
El Greco (Cass, Album). EastWest, Warner Music Poland. Nothing new from Vangelis, nothing progressive and no electro-pioneering, technocratic feeling anymore. Nothing come close to his earlier years, say 1973-1985. Responder Ver 1 resposta Notifique-me Helpful.

Vangelis - Foros Timis Ston Greco, A Tribute to El Greco. On this album Vangelis is back to the late 70s. The sounds used and the melodies are just lacking some more percussions and/or rhythm respect to that period, but the compositions are very good and not repetitive. There is the celtic flavour of Movement 5 for example, or the peaceful length of Movement 1, the Arabesque medieval Movement 7. It's a sort of anthology of the musical places visited by Vangelis during his career with the exclusion of the jazzy debuts.
El Greco - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack By Vangelis. Overview (current section).
Not to be confused with El Greco Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, a 2007 album also by Vangelis. Studio album by Vangelis. Foros Timis Ston Greco is a classical album by Greek electronic composer and artist Vangelis. The title is an allusion to the man who inspired the composition, Dominikos Theotokópoulos, the luxurious packaging, in a dark-blue velvet box, included a 128-page coffee table book, about El Grecos paintings, dedicated to Vangelis, and a digipack containing the CD. Each CD carried Vangelis personal signature and a serial number
