A fine collection of early Perry dub packaged in what seems to be a semi-legit, bootleg way. This label seems to be tied in with the French label Lagoon, which has released the Perry-produced Bob Marley session (two CDs, both of them essential). This is a good selection; Perry remixes are typically audacious and crazy, but there's little enclosed information telling you when the tracks were cut.

Heads of Government from Black Ark Experryments: Joe Gibbs & The Professionals – African Dub Almighty (Chapter 3) (Gibbs Record Globe, 1975). You may recognise this music from Don Letts’ (of The Clash fame) film Punk Rock Movie. Burnt Friedman & The Nu Dub Players – Just Landed (~scape, 2000). Cologne-based musician/producer Burnt Friedmann teams up with New Zealand allies the Nu Dub Players to create a fun, diverse and impressive digi dub album. Yabby U – King Tubby’s Prophecy of Dub (Blood & Fire, 1976). An excellent collection of late Randy’s and early Black Ark dub versions that includes a previously unreleased mix of the Congos classic Solid Foundation and rare dub mixes of Junior Murvin’s Roots Train and Max Romeo’s War in a Babylon. Solid Foundation from Upsetter in Dub: King Tubby Meets Soul Syndicate – Freedom Sounds In Dub (Blood & Fire, 1996).

Black Ark is an album by Atari Teenage Riot member Carl Crack, initially released via DHR's Limited series. The album's sound is a mix between noise, dub and jungle, with an overall lo-fi tone. The title Black Ark is a tribute to the Black Ark recording studio in Jamaica, which was owned and run by dub artist Lee "Scratch" Perry. If You Mess With Me!" - 4:16.
Not to be confused with Black Dub (stream), a watercourse in Cumbria, United Kingdom. Black Dub is the debut album by the Daniel Lanois-instigated collaboration Black Dub, an amalgam of dub, blues, soul and rock. All songs are written by Lanois, save for two, the group effort "Last Time. and the song "Ring the Alarm" written by Tenor Saw.
