L is the second album by Godley & Creme. It was released in 1978. Its 34-minute running time was a stark contrast with that of the ill-received triple concept album Consequences (1977). The album wasn't entirely well received, however. The songs contained much variation and artistry, dissonances, complex time signatures and melodies, clever, poetical lyrics, and some wonderful echoes from Frank Zappa's Over-Nite Sensation (1973).

Lol Creme, Kevin Godley. Consequences ‎(3xLP, Album + Box). If you don't know about this album let me break it down a little. A prog rock concept vinyl album spanning 3 discs. The basic narrative being mans fight against nature or how powerless we are at its mercy when it starts to get really fucking lively. My overall memories on the underneath are overall pretty horrible actually. Kevin Godley & Lou creme divided this device called "The gizmo" which I believe was a box with 5 wheels inside that would align with guitar strings and clamp to the guitars neck. The wheels had wire brushes affixed and were rotated at speed - when pressed to the guitar strings it would create these other worldly - almost string section type noise, & with added studio effects would make some of the weirdest noises recorded.

This album, the solo debut of former 10cc members Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, is generally considered to be one of the most notorious examples of '70s music-business excess. Consequences began its life as a single designed to show off the "gizmo," a musical device created by Godley & Creme that allowed an electric guitar to create symphonic-sounding textures when attached to its neck. Simply put, Consequences is a disaster: its humor is labored, its musical content is dull, and the mind-numbing length of the album proved that neither Godley nor Creme knew when to quit. The duo later proved they were capable of better and more focused satirical pop on albums like Freeze Frame, but they are lucky this creative train wreck didn't end their career before it could start.

Lol Creme, Kevin Godley ‎– Consequences. Genre: Electronic, Rock, Non-Music.

Kevin Godley and Lol Creme were songwriting partners in the very successful art-pop band10cc in the mid 1970s. The other songwriting partnership in that band, Graham Gouldman and Eric Stewart, were the more conventional poppers, while Godley and Creme generally steered the band into quirkier territory. Eventually they figured out how to make a wide range of sounds with this device, and decided in 1976 to make a demonstration single to help promote their invention. That was the original plan, anyway. What eventually happened was that Godley and Creme left 10cc to devote their full energies to this, a vast three-record concept album based almost entirely on sounds produced by the Gizmo. Imagine what guts those guys had. The result is one of the most confounding, eccentric album packages ever conceived.

At the time, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme were experimenting with a guitar gadget called the Gizmo, which created orchestral-like effects. I actually met Lol Creme recently, and he was incredibly happy when I told him that in my opinion Consequences is one of the greatest albums of all time. It’s something I don’t think he hears too often. JON ANDERSON – Olias Of Sunhillow (Atlantic, 1976). This album was based on Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem, which has been plundered many times before and since by a variety of rock musicians.

Consequences (Godley & Creme album). For other albums with this name, see Consequence (disambiguation). Consequences is the debut album by English pop artists Godley & Creme. It was released in 1977 as a boxed triple-LP. Created as a concept album, it incorporates a play, with all characters voiced by comedian Peter Cook, and singing by Sarah Vaughan, who was brought into the project by Phonogram after trying to secure Ella Fitzgerald.

LOL CREME & KEVIN GODLEY (Artist) Format: Vinyl. This album gets a lot of flack for its experimental nature and the fact that they sort of threw a comedy teleplay in the middle and also it's length (three records). Luckily, that also means that you can probably find a used copy of the original 1977 UK LP in pretty decent condition (because a lot of people don't listen to it over and over). This is a Brilliant Work from Lol Creme and Kevin Godley called "Consequences"; combining an INCREDIBLE ARRAY of Sounds, due mainly to the creativity of the pair listed, and a device they created called the "Gizmo"; voice, intruments, all manner of sounds can be run through and created with their Gizmo device.
