Cosmograf - Mind Over Depth (Album teaser), release date April 12th 2019. Further info: ww. osmograf.

Mind Over Depth is characteristically introspective and allegorical like previous Cosmograf albums, but this record is much heavier with influences that draw from modern progressive metal, electronica and classic heavy metal.

Mind Over Depth is the heaviest Cosmograf album yet, with Kyle Fenton on drums who played on the 2017 record ‘The Hay Man Dreams’ and Colin Edwin (. k/ Porcupine Tree) guesting. Mind Over Depth on this site. One Response to New Album – Mind Over Depth. mark6500fb Thursday 16th May 2019 at 20:38 I’m presently listening at the Mind Over Depth album. I can’t understand what’s happening to me with Cosmograf music.

Mind Over Depth by Cosmograf, released 12 April 2019 1. A Million Choices 2. Godspeed 3. The Smoke And The Flame 4. Sharks 5. Goodbye To All Illusions Everything going on in our minds - every thought, feeling, sensation, everything we are aware of - is in fact happening only in our private internal worlds . Mind Over Depth is another impressive offering from the talented Mr Armstrong under the Cosmograf moniker and the lack of a narrative proves no detriment at all. Powerful, cinematic and enigmatic, all the plaudits this release is garnering are richly deserved and will hopefully attract a new audience to Robin’s music. Released April 12th, 2019. Mind Over Depth Track Listing: 1. Goodbye To All Illusions. Cosmograf prog rock robin armstrong.

The 7th album is called "Mind Over Depth" which was released in April of 2019 and it features guests Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree) playing bass on the first 2 tracks, and also Kyle Fenton on drums and backing vocals. The music on the album centers around using the power of the mind to help us rise above our status in life. There are 5 long tracks that have a total runtime of over 45 minutes. A Million Choices" opens the album with the longest track at over 11 minutes. This is the first album I have heard from Cosmograf, but apparently this album is more guitar driven than the previous albums by the project. I do know that it does have that Heavy Prog sound that seems to be similar to Porcupine Tree's later music, but there are times when a more Neo Prog sound does come in. There are some very strong tracks here that I consider the highlights, those being the first two tracks and "Sharks".

Mind Over Depth Album Artwork. The Smoke and the Flame was chosen as a lead single and as the shortest and most direct song, it makes sense. With lies and greed forming the foundation of the lyrical content, this is an anguished cry of injustice with a mighty chorus to convey its message. This is a different Cosmograf than the listener may have expected and it will be interesting to see where Armstrong decides to take us next. Hopefully he/we will make our way to the surface and catch a wave to brighter shores. Or perhaps he will choose to linger on the dark side, as it beckons with its shadowy depths.

Robin Armstrong - Vocals, Guitars. Keyboards, Bass (Tracks 3,4,5) Colin Edwin - Bass (Tracks1,2) Kyle Fenton - Drums, Backing Vocals. The seventh album from Cosmograf breaks with the band's tradition of being centred around one singular concept and sees Armstrong adopting a heavier style of progressive music. Mind Over Depth" features guest appearances from . bassist Colin Edwin - who was also featured on 2014's "Capacitor" - and drummer Kyle Fenton, who appeared on 2017's "The Hay-Man Dreams".
