The performance by The Chaddom Blechbourne Experience was very funny. Blechdom sang vacuous material with real passion, while Chadbourne fragmented idiomatic five-string banjo with chaotic runs. -Stuart Broomer, Musicworks, Winter 2007. New, surprising ideas still sneak into the mix. Take, for example, the (mostly) banjo duo of Eugene Chadbourne and Kevin Blechdom: closing a set which swerved deliriously from tipsy Americana.

Long-time collaborators, guitarists Henry Kaiser and Eugene Chadbourne perform the compositions of trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith, starting with their recording from 1977 of his "Wind Crystals", then improvising over 5 other Smith compositions, ending the album with an updated, 2017 version of "Wind Crystals"; an excellent refresh and retrospective from two incredible improvisers. A seemingly endless - and endlessly eclectic - series of releases made the innovative guitarist Eugene Chadbourne one of the underground community's most well-known and well-regarded eccentrics. Born January 4, 1954 in Mount Vernon, NY, Chadbourne was raised in Boulder, CO, by his mother, a refugee of the Nazi death camps.
In late 2008, she teamed with Eugene Chadbourne for The Chaddom Blechbourne Experience, an amusing set of banjo-dominated material including traditional songs like Alabama Jubilee and Graveyard and deliberately bizarre "fused" covers (the Beach Boys and Violent Femmes, Kylie Minogue and Mystikal). One of the most irreverent and gifted producers of experimental electronic music, Kevin Blechdom (Kristen Erickson) got her start with partner Blevin Blectum in Blectum from Blechdom at Mills College while studying computer music. With their custom-made programs, the duo stripped the normally academic field of experimental music of its studious mentality and replaced it with child sounds, cartoon effects, and intentionally brutal compositions.
