Thom Brennan (born May 31, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas) is an American electronic ambient musician, composer and synthesist. Active since the 1980s with his first album Mountains (1987), he belongs to the scene of Californian pioneers of electronic music. His style encloses the principal traits characterizing the evolution from Terry Riley's and Morton Subotnick's minimalism to the form of electronic new age suite.

Deep green ambient habitats. Genre: New Age: Ambient. Thom Brennan began his brand of electronic music in the early 1980's. A colorful and private world of harmonic tapestries. In addition to an ongoing series of solo works, collaborations with ambient composer Steve Roach appeared on the 1988 Fortuna release WESTERN SPACES, and the Projekt Records compilation AMPLEXUS COLLECTIVE. Note this was originally released under the title The Secret Faith of Salamanders.

The gentle, ambient, nature-influenced music of Thom Brennan had an early showcase in 1987 with his release, Mountains, a collaboration with Steve Roach that evoked memories of his childhood on an island in the East China Sea. His next full-length album, the ocean-inspired Beneath Clouds, wouldn't appear until nine years later.
