The Best of Poison: 20 Years of Rock is a compilation album from the American rock band Poison, released to celebrate the band's 20 year anniversary. It has sold more than 1 million copies to date in the . as of September 2009. The album was released on April 3, 2006 on EMI. It features many songs from the band's 20-year career. Most notable is the song "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", which was the band's biggest hit, a power ballad.

This collection follows Poison’s evolution from lipsticked party boys to bandanna-wrapped hard rockers. The first half is packed with their ’80s hair-metal jams, including Talk Dirty to Me, a three-chord collision of bubblegum-punk riffs and Bret Michaels’ salacious come-ons, and Nothin’ But a Good Time, which explodes with glossy, Cheap Trick-streaked hooks and harmonies.

This Best of Poison: 20 Years of Rock collection manages to trim down the excess and minor hits of the later portion of their career (which were prominently featured on Poison's Greatest Hits 1986-1996) and instead focuses on the best of their early years, which is where they unquestionably were at their best. Every single hit you could ever want or need is included here, and there's also a cover of Grand Funk Railroad's "We're an American Band" that works surprisingly well

Case in point: Poison – 20 Years Of Rock. After having released a ten-year anniversary Best Of – the commendable Greatest Hits 1986-1996 – the band chose to do likewise for their twentieth, once again dusting off the old hits and repackaging them for audiences both old and new. As an added bonus, they threw in a couple of songs from their resurgence albums and a pair of previously unreleased covers, effectively making this an update of the aforementioned release. The problem, then, is that besides the covers, this album has precious little else to offer in relation to Greatest Hits. The tracklist is so similar that a Poison connoisseur barely even needs to listen to this album – all they’d have to do was run an eye over the setlist, pop in the couple of covers, and they’d be done. Apart from the couple of new tracks, what is present here differs very little from any other Poison Best Of.
