Biography by Matt Fink. Comprising former members of At The Drive-In, they create experimental rock, with intense, manic energy.

The Mars Volta have spoken about their spooky new album. The follow up to 2006’s ’Amputechture’ is set to be released on January 28, and is entitled ’The Bedlam In Goliath’. Speaking about the lyrical tone of the album, frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala said he was influenced by a trip guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez took to Jerusalem. Bixler-Zavala said: He brought me bac. hat you’d call a Ouija board in the States and we started playing with i. e used to get the band to play it a lot after we’d play shows in the middle of nowhere, with nothing to do.

The Bedlam in Goliath is the fourth studio album by American progressive rock band the Mars Volta, released on January 29, 2008, on Gold Standard Laboratories and Universal Motown Records. Produced by guitarist and songwriter Omar Rodríguez-López, the album's creation was subject to "bad luck controversy" after an experience with a ouija that Rodriguez-Lopez bought as a gift for vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala.

Know (stylized as Know. is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz. The album was released on August 10, 2018 by Atlantic Records. The album's lead single "Have It All" was released on April 27, 2018, accompanied by a video filmed with performing arts students from his hometown of Richmond. The video for the third track released on July 6, 2018, "Might as Well Dance", features footage shot at Mraz's wedding.

It wasn’t the first Mars Volta song that I heard, but it was really interesting to listen to it because it was kind of the precursor to what the first album would be. It felt like they were still trying to find their feet, and I found that really interesting. And this is a great song. ROULETTE DARES (THE HAUNT OF) (De-Loused in the Comatorium, 2003) I like The Mars Volta because they’re such a varied band. They mix a lot of Latin sounds in there, and all sorts of other weirdness, and you can hear all of that in this song. DRUNKSHIP OF LANTERNS (De-Loused in the Comatorium, 2003) Their song titles are completely off the wall as well. And as we go through this list you’ll see they end up actually making up their own words, which is even better.
