Wallenstein - Blitzkrieg 1972 (Germany, Krautrock, Symphonic Prog) Debut album from Viersen (Rhineland), later relocated to Moenchengladbach.
This album has an average beat per minute of 117 BPM (slowest/fastest tempos: 110/124 BPM).
Quite a frenzied album, Blitzkrieg largely delivers energy at the expense of an interesting direction. Occasional individual parts may stand out, but all in all, I find Wallensteins take on this fusion greatly lacking in ideas.
Blitzkrieg (Cass, Album). Pilz (2). 21 39064-6. 1972's Blitzkrieg was Wallenstein debut, and what you really have here is hard-edged prog rock with a jamming quality it, and when the Mellotron rears its head, the band goes into a symphonic direction.
The band Wallenstein, founded in Viersen in Lower Rhineland, later based in Mönchengladbach, was a German rock band from 1971 to 1982, which was later associated with the so-called Krautrock of the 1970s. Wallenstein was founded in the summer of 1971 under the martial name of Blitzkrieg by the ambitious student of art (at the Art Academy Düsseldorf), Jürgen Dollase, from Viersen.

Listen free to Wallenstein – Blitzkrieg (Lunetic, The Theme and more). One of Germany’s longer lasting bands had first started as Blitzkrieg (until they found out a British band used the name as well) and changed their name to Wallenstein and kept their former name for the album, gracing it with a war-themed gatefold cover. Produced by the unavoidable Dieter Dierks and released on the ultra collectible Pilz label in early 1972, this debut album is stunning effort that transformed the 200 MPH speed notion into music.
