That Makes It Tough (Overdubbed Version).

That Makes It Tough" lyrics provided for educational purposes and personal use only.

Oh 2013, you gave so much and asked so little; 2014, get crackin'. You've got a lot to live up to. Contributors: Jon Dolan, Will Hermes, Christian Hoard, Rob Sheffield, and Simon Vozick-Levinson. This charmingly matter-of-fact 25-year-old Texan makes commercial country sound artistically fertile again. Singing about a friend with benefits ("It Is What It Is") or weed smokin' and same-sex kissing ("Follow Your Arrow"), she's ballsy, traditional and pop. Call her the millennials' Loretta Lynn. The music makes it feel worth the heartache just the same.

That'll Be The Day is the final studio album from Buddy Holly. Decca, Holly’s first major record label, after failing to produce a hit single from Holly’s early recordings, packaged these 1956 tunes after he had some success with recordings from the Brunswick and Coral labels, . the previously released single "That'll Be the Day". This is the last album released before his death in a plane crash on February 3, 1959, and is rare among collectors.

The tendency of most critics is to dismiss this album, comprised as it is of the songs from Holly's 1956 Nashville sessions, which yielded a somewhat too tentative, country-oriented sound that suited neither him nor the public. In actual fact, at least ten of the 11 songs on this LP (the one exception being the ballad "Girl on My Mind") have aged almost as well as anything that Holly ever recorded. Even the ballad "You Are My One Desire" - though it doesn't really resemble much else that Holly ever did - is given a hauntingly passionate performance.

Buddy Holly is a studio album by Buddy Holly. It was released by Coral Records on February 20, 1958. The album collects Holly's four hit singles released on the Coral label; "Words of Love", "Peggy Sue", "I'm Gonna Love You Too", and "Rave On!". The backing group was Buddy Holly's band, the Crickets. Some re-releases include the tracks from Holly's next single, "Early in the Morning" backed with "Now We're One", and "Take Your Time", the B-side of the single "Rave On".

Buddy Holly was a true original, bringing a nerd chic and Texan drawl to the early rock 'n' roll movement that set him apart from fellow greaser contemporaries. His time in the limelight tragically only lasted for a year and a half as Buddy was to lose his life in a plane crash and because of this only three full studio albums were produced, two of which we have included here.
