Gonna leave this brokedown palace On my hands and my knees, I will roll, roll, roll Make myself a bed by the waterside In my time, in my time, I will roll, roll, roll. In a bed, in a bed By the waterside I will lay my head Listen to the river sing sweet songs To rock my soul. River gonna take me, sing me sweet and sleepy Sing me sweet and sleepy all the way back home It's a far gone lullaby sung many years ago Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come since I first left home.
American Beauty is the fifth studio album by rock band the Grateful Dead. Released November 1, 1970, by Warner Bros. Records, the album continued the folk rock and country music style of their previous album Workingman's Dead, issued earlier in the year. Though the Americana approach is still evident in the songwriting, comparatively the sound focused more on folk harmonies and major-key melodies, showing influence from Bob Dylan and Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young.

Brokedown Palace tab by Grateful Dead Tabs. Album: Dead Set (Live). I noticed that as far as Grateful Dead TAB goes, not much exists in terms of Jerry's solo's. The following is the complete solo from Brokedown Palace off their Live album "Dead Set". It's not too difficult to play, and he uses a very clean sound. I neglected to take great care writing out the timing because you should be able to acquainted with that by listening to the album. I did indicate song times where convenient. Brokedown Palace was written in 1970 in London by Robert Hunter and Jerry Garcia. The first ever live performance for this track was in Fillmore West on August 18, 1970. It was also included in the sixth album of Grateful Dead, American Beauty. It was released on November 1, 1970.
