Hello Monkees fans and folks in the Vinyl Community! This video is an unboxing of the Record Store Day exclusive release Classic Album Collection. I show the box and each album inside of it.

It's hard not to wonder why the four-disc Music Box even exists. Then, there's the song selection, which is impeccable for the first three discs, which devote a year each to 1966, 1967, and 1968, blending hits with rarities, album versions, and alternate takes, never once seeming like a sop to collectors. The fourth disc is a little more problematic, just because it spans from 1969 to 1996, containing reunion tracks that some fans may rather not hear, but it still has more than enough minor gems that will please the dedicated.

The Monkees is the first album by the band the Monkees. It was released in October 1966 by Colgems Records in the United States and RCA Victor in the rest of the world. It was the first of four consecutive . number one albums for the group, taking the top spot on the Billboard 200 for 13 weeks, after which it was displaced by the band's second album. It also topped the UK charts in 1967. The Monkees has been certified quintuple platinum by the RIAA, with sales of over five million copies.

Music Box is a four-CD set by the Monkees. It replaced the previous Monkees box set, entitled Listen to the Band. In addition to music recorded in the 1960s, it also includes music from the Monkees reunions in 1986 and 1996, as well as previously unreleased versions. From the album The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees (4/22/68).

The Monkees Music Box" is an unadulterated bargain. The alternate mix of "Of You" is worth the price of the set alone, and the up-tempo version of "I Wanna Be Free" is by far my preferred version of this track; alternate versions of "Look Out" and "She Hangs Out" are also excellent. I was looking for a Monkees compilation that contained all of their hits, popular songs, and the better of their non-45 released album tracks - and I didn't want a compilation that was filled with so-so "filler" songs or live versions (because live versions tend to be much faster and generally omit the little nuances) - and this. compilation was just what I was looking for.

(Theme from) The Monkees" was written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart as the theme song to the television series The Monkees, opening every episode. A different version of the song opened The Monkees' first album, The Monkees, for which stereo and mono mixes were issued. Though originally released only as an album track in the United States, it was released as a single in Australia in August 1967, backed with "Saturday's Child".
