Autry DeWalt Mixon Jr. (June 14, 1931 – November 23, 1995), known professionally as Junior Walker, was an American saxophonist and vocalist who recorded for Motown during the 1960s. Walker was born Autry DeWalt Mixon Jr. on June 14, 1931 in Blytheville, Arkansas, and grew up in South Bend, Indiana. He began playing saxophone while in high school, and his saxophone style was the anchor for the sound of the bands he later played in.

On "Sexpots," a girl watching tune, Junior Walker sings what most men think when they see a shapely female sashaying down the street. You could label "Ball Baby," and "In and Out" PG (Parental Guidance), even the most naive will know what Walker's singing and blowing about. The addition of "Shotgun," and "What Does It Take (To Win Your Love)" makes this an excellent bargain for the price.

Finding his career deadlocked, Walker returned to Motown in 1983, issuing Blow The House Down, an exercise in reclaiming lost ground. The novelty single Sex Pot rekindled memories of his classic hits, although Walkers greatest commercial success in the 80s came when he guested with Foreigner and played the magnificent saxophone solo on their hit single Urgent. He lost a two-year battle with cancer in November 1995.

b. Autry DeWalt II (. Autry De Walt Mixon), 14th June 1931, Blythesville, Arkansas, . d. 23rd November 1995, Battle Creek, Michigan, . Junior Walker was born Autry DeWalt II in Arkansa in 1931. Junior returned to Motown in 1983, releasing 'Blow The House Down', which featured the mid-tempo 'Closer Than Close', his version of the Foreigner song 'Urgent' along with his take on the Willie Hutch song, 'In And Out'. He continued to tour through the '80's and '90's, sometimes including his son, in his performances, Autry DeWalt III playing drums. Junior Walker lost a two-year battle with cancer on Thursday the 23rd of November 1995 and passed away at his home.
