The Essential Red Collection" (2004) is a remastered greatest hits compilation by Sammy Hagar.

It is also often referred to as The Red Album, as it includes Hagar's first anthem, "Red", which is also the basis for his nickname "The Red Rocker".

Biography by Stephen Thomas Erlewine. Gritty hard rocker who sold millions with Montrose and as a solo act even before he replaced David Lee Roth to become Van Halen's frontman in 1986.

Sammy Hagar: American rock vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, musician and entrepreneur. Hagar came to prominence in the 1970s with the hard rock band Montrose. He then launched a successful solo career, scoring an enduring hit in 1984 with "I Can't Drive 55". He enjoyed commercial success when he replaced David Lee Roth as the lead singer of Van Halen in 1985, but left in 1996. He returned to the band for a two-year reunion from 2003 to 2005.

Sammy Hagar is a rock vocalist and guitarist. Hagar is known as a solo artist and a former member of several notable bands. Hagar first came to prominence singing on the first two Montrose albums - Montrose (1973) and Paper Money (1974). Neither charted highly, but the band's debut proved to be very influential and would ultimately achieve platinum status in the USA, representing one million shipments.

Unboxed is a compilation album of Sammy Hagar's recording career at Geffen Records. In 1993, Geffen's A&R representative John Kalodner called Hagar to say the label wanted to release a compilation called "Unboxed". Hagar approved the title, as it poked fun at all the artists and bands that were releasing boxed set collections at the time.

Hagar didn't abandon his Chickenfoot brothers for the 2013 album Sammy Hagar & Friends; each member, along with several other kindred spirits, showed up on this party-hearty 2013 LP. 2014's Lite Roast saw the tireless Hagar and Wabos guitarist Vic Johnson gently tearing through some coffeehouse-ready versions of Hagar.
