1954 Написал вторую автобиографическую книгу Satchmo. My Life in New Orleans.
1971 10 февраля 1971 г. в последний раз играл и пел в телешоу со своим старым партнером по сцене Бингом Кросби.
But when a compilation calls itself Louis Armstrong's All-Time Greatest Hits yet doesn't include "Dippermouth Blues," "Yes! I'm in the Barrel," or "Struttin' With Some Barbecue," just to name a few, it's difficult to agree with the name.
Trumpet player Louis Armstrong was often referred to by his nickname which was Satchmo. He was born just after the turn of the century in 1901 in New Orleans. Armstrong was greatly influenced by the Jazz music being played in the area. He was a vocalist as well as a trumpet player and you could easily tell he was singing because his vocals had a distinctively rough and gravely sound. He had one of those very unique voices and once you heard it you were not likely to ever forget it or that it was Armstrong

Something tells me Louis Armstrong is the only singer I will be listening to for the next few days! Beautiful song. Easily the greatest song of Louis Armstrong and also one of the 10 greatest songs of all time. The way he has sung the song and played the trumpet, just elevates this song to an ethereal sphere! What an unalloyed genius?
ALL TIME BEST OF LOUIS ARMSTRONG (aka Louis Armstrong's Greatest Hits) includes the original KAPP singles of "Hello Dolly" and "What A Wonderful World. These and three other tracks come from the MCA archives. Conspicuously missing are "Mack The Knife" and "A Kiss To Build A Dream O. A one-page bio rounds out this budget package, which has fine audio fidelity throughout. Bing sings six out of eleven songs with Louis, while Louis sings only five, but at least all of those are solo! Ah, but those are the gems! I have also discovered that I need to seek out a new Armstrong CD.
