Talking Heads' "Once in a Lifetime," from the 1980 album Remain in Light.

Once in a Lifetime: The Best of Talking Heads is a compilation album by Talking Heads. All songs written by David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Jerry Harrison, Tina Weymouth except as noted: "Psycho Killer" (Byrne, Frantz, Weymouth) (from Talking Heads: 77, 1977). Take Me to the River" (Al Green, Mabon "Teenie" Hodges) (from More Songs About Buildings and Food, 1978).

Album: Remain In Light (1980). Charted: 14 91. Get the Sheet Music License This Song. David Byrne says they're wrong; that the lyric is pretty much about what it says it's about. In an interview with NPR, Byrne said: "We're largely unconscious . Bruce from San Jose, CaSuch a frenetic, schizoid, mapcap song.

For the 1992 Talking Heads compilation, see Once in a Lifetime: The Best of Talking Heads. Sagmeister would work with David Byrne and Brian Eno on their 2008 album Everything That Happens Will Happen Today. Only one previously unreleased song appears in this release: the Naked outtake "In Asking Land".

Once in a Lifetime is a three-CD box set by American post-punk/new wave band Talking Heads, released in the United States by Sire, Warner Bros, andRhino in 2003. The set also includes a DVD containing an expanded version of the music video compilation Storytelling Giant. However, that album was remastered and reissued in 2004 as a two-disc set. Once in a Lifetime contains four previously unreleased "alternate versions", three of which would later be reissued in various forms: "Uh-Oh, Love Comes to Town" and "New Feeling" are the original Tony Bongiovi "pop experiment" mixes, including brass parts and other more "commercial" production techniques that the band ultimately rejected; "Cities" is an alternate take that includes a verse previously heard only. Once in a Lifetime (2003). The Best of Talking Heads (2004).

Talking Heads,77 is the debut album by the American rock band Talking Heads, released in September 1977. The single Psycho Killer reached N. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, in 2003, the album was ranked N. 90 on Rolling Stone magazines The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. The album was released by Sire Records in the UK and US, in 2005, it was remastered and re-released by Warner Music Group on their Warner Bros I used to know a blissed-out hippie-chick in Baltimore, recalled Byrne in the notes of Once in a Lifetime. She once told me that she used to do acid and lay down on the field by the Yoo-hoo chocolate soda factory, flying out of her body, etc etc. It seemed like such a kind of transcendenc. ut it was real.

While America got the double disc set, Europe received a streamlined, single disc collection, The Best Of (Once In A Lifetime). But the inclusion of a pair of oddities, "Sax and Violins" and "Lifetime Piling Up," will raise a few eyebrows, especially with such a backlog of stronger material that very easily could have fit alongside the renowned hits (namely "Memories Can't Wait," "Crosseyed and Painless," "Swamp," "Girlfriend is Better," et. But by and large, for a single disc collection, The Best Of (Once In A Lifetime) accomplishes its goal - hopefully one day a slightly more expanded version will see a stateside release.

The Best Of - Once In A Lifetime ‎(CD, Comp). EMI, EMI, Sire, Sire. 0777 7 80593 2 5, 7805932. Probably one of the best 'best of' compilations of any band definitely one for the tape deck in your car or one of those new fangled walkmans. Do yourself a favour though. Reply Notify me Helpful.
