From the album 'Dissertation, Honey'.

As for the songs, there's no way to classify them. What may start off as a propulsive hardcore rant may morph into a free jazz frenzy before changing still into a low key lounge vibe. Case in point: "For Marcus" has the band kicking things off at a lightening pace. The danger that drips off of this album is comparable to the danger which dripped off of the first Sex Pistols record or the first Rolling Stones record.

Their 2003 release Dissertation, Honey is a very divisive album. Most people either love it or hate it, and while I am most definitely one of the former I can see how some people would not enjoy this. Part of this depends on the listener of course. If a punk/jazz mashup doesn’t sound appealing to you, chances are Dissertation, Honey is not going to change your mind. However, if you’re a fan of post-hardcore and not against a little experimentation this album could be just what you’re looking for. Perhaps.

Love in the Fascist Brothel is the second and final studio album by San Diego post-hardcore band The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower, released on Revelation Records and Three One G on February 15, 2005 on compact disc and vinyl formats respectively. The album showed a significant change in sound from the band's previous full-length, focusing much more on the styles of noise rock rather than just jazz punk. The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower was a four-piece punk/noise band from San Diego, California, that formed in 2001. After disbanding in 2006, drummer Brian Hill now plays with The Soft Pack, while singer Brandon Welchez and Charles Rowell formed the duo Crocodiles. Brandon Welchez - Vocals/Saxophone. Willy Graves - Bass (Deceased). Charles Rowland, Sir Charles or Chuck) - Guitar.

The band followed up with the If You Cut Us, We Bleed EP, which showed its sound beginning to veer away from jazz overtones and focusing more on an aggressive and discordant post-hardcore attack that would fit in with the crew at One-Three-G Records. Both releases were received to high fan and critical praise.
