Carmen mcrae - her finest decca recordings 1955-1958 - 3 CD set. Track Listings. This is a lovely collection of mostly jazzy torch standards, with a few tracks like "Come Down to Earth, Mr. Smith" which you are unlikely to find recorded by anyone else, but still fit into the genre and style of the rest. Several numbers are light-hearted, chatty duets with Sammy Davis, Jr. All the songs are orchestra backed, from the mid-fifties, and generally sound great: crisp and clear; pleasantly bright; especially the vocals- less so the band.

In Love Romantic Evening Dinner Ambiance Relaxation. Carmen McRae Sings Great American Songwriters. The 20 numbers on this CD are taken from ten different sessions and find McRae joined by the Mat Mathews Quintet (featuring flutist Herbie Mann), the Ray Bryant Trio, and several large orchestras.
