Album · 2017 · 8 Songs. Abominable Telekinetic Yeti.
Telekinetic Yeti have put together a ridiculously strong debut album with Abominable and consequently one that gives a shot in the arm to the stoner doom genre. It’s creative, heavy, addictive and energetic - what more can you ask for?" - Nine Circles. After hearing Abominable I can only say that I think Telekinetic Yeti is going to destroy a lot of stages with this album. Telekinetic Yeti leaves a great impression with the album Abominable through Sump Pump Records showing that two can do the work and the noise of three, four or five. And more than that, perhaps they have left a challenge: who will be the next duo to challenge the titanic hail of bullets of these two guys?" - Stoned Union Doomed. Eight songs tie together forty one minutes of some of the richest and flat-out HUGE sounding songs to come from two guys in my memory!!" - Taste Nation. Abominable is an outstanding album, performed and produced masterfully. In 2017 they also toured most of the US and parts of Canada alongside sludge metal legends "Weedeater" as well as stoner rock legends "Truckfighters.

Abominable’ by Telekinetic Yeti has the pedigree and potential to become a milestone record. Maybe it will take a little while. Or maybe it will take longer than that, who’s to say. However, it will leave its mark, sooner or later, there is not a shred of doubt in my mind. Telekinetic Yeti have put together a ridiculously strong debut album with Abominable and consequently one that gives a shot in the arm to the stoner doom genre.
Luckily, Telekinetic Yeti have a pass to ride for as long as they damn well please. The band’s 2017 release ‘Abominable’ (recorded at Flat Black Studios and mixed by Luke Tweedy, with mastering by Carl Saff at SAFF Mastering) is an avalanche of glorious sound. It is fuzzy, crunchy, and spacey all at once. Witness epic journeys in the form of riffy metal, like the second track ‘Electronaut’ or the instrumental voyage ‘Colossus. Both songs display the variance and precision Telekinetic Yeti can pack into a groove. They are a hybrid of heavy riffing doom and psychedelic exploration. Stoned and Feathered’ is a prime example of how loud Telekinetic Yeti is capable of sounding. The album is very clear, but not over produced in a way that makes it sound slick. It sounds just like you imagined in that daydream you had during your bout of astral projection last week.
Telekinetic Yeti - Abominable (Full Album) Occasionally, a recording reaches out of the speakers and grabs you - shakes you - doesn’t invite but demands that you trip with it along whatever imagined pathways it produces. Abominable, the first full-length release from Dubuque’s Telekinetic Yeti (out on Sump Pump Records March 17) may just be the first such album of 2017
