Rubber Soul is the sixth studio album by English rock band The Beatles. Produced by George Martin, it marked a progression in the band's treatment of the album format as an artistic platform, an approach they continued to develop with their subsequent albums Revolver (1966) and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967).
RUBBER SOUL was originally released December 6, 1965 in the . Disc: 1. 1. I've Just Seen A Face (mono mix). 2. Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) (mono mix). 3. You Won't See Me (mono mix). 4. Think For Yourself (mono mix). This mid-Sixties album catches the Beatles at the point they ceased to be interested in churning out one dance hit after another and started experimenting with more exotic styles. Norwegian Wood," for example, is in the Mixolydian mode, as opposed to a regular "Major" key. Other hits include "You Won't See Me, "The Word" and "Michelle. There are over 21 tracks on this CD, but most of those are repeated mono and stereo. 2 people found this helpful.
The Beatles' sixth studio album Rubber Soul is arguably the best album of all time, though some may argue it’s not even the best album The Beatles made. The album came after their exposure to Bob Dylan and pot. It was only their second album to contain completely original songs. The lyrical content on the album is markedly more sophisticated than their previous material. The name Rubber Soul is a pun on soul music and a shoe’s rubber sole
As such, it offends some historical purists, who don't think of it as a real album. Regardless of its origins, however, The Beatles' Second Album stands as probably best pure rock & roll album ever issued of the group's music
Even though it came out on the same day as its . version of Rubber Soul featured only 10 of the same songs. The other two that make up the . release, "I've Just Seen a Face" and "It's Only Love," were from the . version of Help!, and placed at the beginning of the LP's two sides. Yesterday and Today'. Released: June 20, 1966.
