1. Hey princess Lyrics.
Popsicle is stuck somewhere between traditional, hooky power-pop and the overdriven, post-shoegazing alterna-pop of the early '90s. On their debut album Lacquer, they've written some appealing, catchy songs, but they've drowned them in sudden bursts of canned distortion that knock the sonics off course somewhat. They're better when they stick to big, ringing guitars and sing-song melodies. On those songs, they have an innocent charm which is quite winning in its own naive way, and that's enough to make Lacquer an enjoyable, promising debut.
