Nat King Cole was way before his time. Too bad he passed away so soon. We could have had a lot more beautiful music from him. I'm just sorry the generations since his passing probably don't know what they're missing by not listening to his beautiful voice. It's here to be purchased (at great prices) and listened to. One can't help but be touched by it and just love it. I agree with everyone else, you can't have Christmas without some of our generations' singers, and Nat King Cole is surely one of them. I hate Christmas music but love Nat King Cole. This is the only Christmas album I can listen to over and over 12 months per year. One person found this helpful.
Nathaniel Adams Coles (17 March 1919 – 15 February 1965) was born in Montgomery, Alabama and used the stage name Nat King Cole throughout his career as a jazz pianist and later as a singer. Cole’s first mainstream hit was Straighten Up and Fly Right in 1943. Bo Diddley, who performed similar folk-based material said that song was a big influence on him. In the late 40s, Cole began recording more pop-oriented material. His stature as a pop singer was cemented by hits like Route 66, Mona Lisa and Unforgettable. In the 50s, virtually every home had a copy of his Christmas album.
