The Stellar Hunter is one of his toughest workouts yet. Sleek, ultra linear big room techno, which, rather than deploying large eruptions of sonic swarm to overwhelm the listener, unleashes new passages following each break. Spicing them up with incessant hi-hats and claps, driving them tirelessly forward with the damaging percussion, each drop offers a new dynamic change in the track's structure. Overall, this is a well rounded off three tracker, and a real winner for Zadig, who raises more and more eyebrows with each new release. A little personal side note: I cannot believe that this is the 283rd release on the beyond legendary Tresor label.

In stock now for same day shipping. Before landing on Berlin's mighty Tresor, Parisian Zadig made a name for himself on labels like Syncrophone and Deeply Rooted House, offering both house and techno as his specialities, but it's safe to say that his tunes were driven by the latter.

The Stellar Hunter is another rock-solid entry in his catalogue, with one standout track backed by two competent workouts.

This came as quite a surprise. The owner of the Paris based Construct Re-Form imprint is dropping a three tracker on Europe's techno evergreen power house Tresor. It's hard, relentless, pitch black and best of all still has enough variation to maintain the listener's attention throughout. Easily one of his strongest pieces to date, if not the rawest. The flip has some issues with keeping up, namely Beyond The Portal Of Madness, which consists of a little more than a sepulchral, blasting drum loop and some distant cog wheel effects sprinkled and retained in the background. It may go on for too long, but I seriously doubt this was intended for the bed rooms. It's monotonous, bulldozer stature and uniformity make it a deadly DJ tool, and the sledgehammer drum kick is something to behold. Must be outer worldly on a proper sound system. Later on in the track, some distant echoes are tossed in the mix as well, but I think this "distant hiss" and "white noise" fare has been basically raping techno cuts these past few years. Anyways, will satisfy the dancing crowd, and at the end of the day, that is what counts. The Man From Outer Space is the submarine, tripped out aquatic gem of the 12". Sparse sounds, clinical crystalline effects and tiny icy bits are laid over a heavily rolling bass line for seven minutes. It sounds like a half frozen centipede trying to pave its way to the earth's inner core, or something. Anyways, it's one of those fully immersive, hypnotic cuts, where the few micromelodic segments grab you over immediately and take you for a tripped out ride. Nothing new, but finely executed. The bass is particularly lean, massive and beefy. Would go down well with the more recent P.A.S. spacey tracks, as in the "Deep Heet Vol. 3" or that Arc cut off of his last EP. Or anything Something In The Sky era Jeff Mills. Overall, this is a well rounded off three tracker, and a real winner for Zadig, who raises more and more eyebrows with each new release.A little personal side note: I cannot believe that this is the 283rd release on the beyond legendary Tresor label. How much time has passed since I purchased Jeff Mills "The Extremist", and they are still churning out new, interesting and invigorating releases. I can hardly convey my enthusiasm into words. Respect.
