Finally at some point in 2014, a conversation was struck and one thing lead to the next. It was through Nao Katafuchi that we finally made contact with the legend himself, and began speaking about the proposed release idea. Tomo Akikawabaya is a mysterious minimal synth musician from Japan, who released several singles in the 1980s before disappearing. He debuted with the single "Mars" in 1983, which was followed by the 2x12" "The Castle" in 1984, "Anju" and "1985" in 1985, and "Kojiki to Onna" in 1986. These releases were later collected in a very limited box set titled "Rivage de la convulsion" (only 30 copies).
Tomo Akikawabaya is a Japanese electronic musician and experimental artist. Tomo studied fashion in London in 1978-1979. There he met and became involved with the punk band Desperate Bicycles. They were practicing in the basement of his friend’s house. After the departure of their guitar player, Tomo joined the band, However, Tomo left England just before the recording of their first album Remorse Code. He debuted with the single Mars in 1983, which was followed by the 2x12 The Castle in 1984, Anju and 1985 in 1985, and Kojiki To Onna in 1986. These releases were later collected in a very limited box set titled Rivage de la convulsion (only 30 copies). Almost all of his records (except for Kojiki to Onna ) feature the same model Rena Anju on cover
