3 members of Duran Duran? Better than nothing I suppose. Simon's voice is haunting and the CD is gold for it's pure musicality. Brings back a lot of memories. Reply Notify me 2 Helpful.

The lone album from Arcadia - the mid-’80s, studio-only Duran Duran spinoff that scored a Top 10 hit with Election Day - will be reissued early next year in an expanded 2CD/1DVD package featuring 19 bonus tracks and all of the short-lived group’s music videos.

When Arcadia released So Red the Rose, Duran Duran had just come off of ruling the world with Seven and the Ragged Tiger. Powerstation had hit it big with meaty, muscular guitars and sexy vocals from Robert Palmer. Simon, Nick, and Roger answered that gauntlet with an album that seemed to capture the most elegant aspects of Duran Duran. This CD is actually a compilation of 2 Arcadia releases from 1985. So Red The Rose" which is the original release that has been fantastically remastered, and "Heavens Eyes" (Bootleg) which has remixed and extended versions of some of the songs from SRTR. Heavens Eyes" is really the Gem that I wanted to get my hands on because it has been an extremely rare album to find in any form (cassette, LP, CD). But finally we have it here in remastered form and it sounds GREAT.

Arcadia released one album, platinum-selling So Red The Rose. It peaked at n. 0 in the UK and n. 3 in the US, and featured: UK & US Top 10 single 'Election Day'. All Music guide describe So Red The Rose as 'the best album Duran never made'.

Duran Duran really wanted to be Japan (the band) and this records shows it.But there are some really nice tracks on this one. Mark Egan plays a wonderful fretless and Grace Jones and Sting makes an appearance. I love this record. And the cover is brilliant.
What an all star guest list in this little gem. Duran Duran for the most part but visits fro David Gilmour, Sting, Pat Methaney to name a few. This is the only recording they did as Arcadia and it went Platinum. If you did a needle drop and didn't tell me who it was I would say Duran Duran. Its brilliantly mixed and will be aa classic.
No, it's bass player Mark Egan of the Pat Metheny *Group* (whose distinctive fretless sound can be recognised in "The Promise", "El Diablo" and "Lady Ice")
Is Pat Metheny uncredited on this record? I can't find any indication he played on this one...
