Billy Vaughn got a little cocky with the title of this 1964 effort, Another Hit Album! Luckily for him it was a hit, but one that spent only three weeks on the charts. A better title would have been Another's Hits Album, since the platter contains Vaughn's instrumental arrangements of other artists' hits. The repertoire is unusually far-ranging, from Hank Snow's "I'm Movin' On" to Barbra Streisand's "People.

Vaughn also charted in Australia, Latin America, and Japan. Pearly Shells" was a major success in Japan. Vaughn's tours of that country began about the time "Pearly Shells" was a hit in 1965. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Vaughn lived Palm Springs, California. He died of peritoneal mesothelioma at Palomar Hospital in Escondido, California, on September 26, 1991, aged 72.
