Ra is the second studio album and third release by Utopia on Bearsville Records in 1977. The cornerstone of the album and show is "Singring and the Glass Guitar," which comprises solos by each band member battling the elements: water (drums), wind (bass), fire (keyboards), and earth (guitar).
Utopia is the second of two self-titled albums by the rock group Utopia (the other being Todd Rundgren's Utopia). It was released in 1982 (see 1982 in music). It was also their only album for Network Records. During the composing phase of this album, Kasim Sulton had left to pursue a solo career, and Doug Howard from the band Touch was brought in on bass. Howard co-wrote two songs on the album, "Feet Don’t Fail Me Now" and "I’m Looking at You But I’m Talking to Myself"
The Focal Utopia is slightly heavier and features a more traditional headphone approach. Between the lush earpads and the slick padded headband, the Utopia headphone feels more like a comfy armchair or sofa. This design is quite a contrast to the HD 800 S as it exudes a more luxurious feel. In conclusion I prefer the sound of the Sennheiser HD 800 S over the Focal Utopia because of the excellent frequency response from lows to highs, the comfortable fit and the wide soundstage. Considering the price it’s quite a deal at half the price of the Utopia as well. The Focal Utopia has incredible sound and comfort but the HD 800 S is simply more fun for long listening sessions and has the clarity and tight bass response that I’m looking for. Many audiophiles will disagree but just as many will also agree the Sennheiser HD 800 S is a winning headphone for the price.
Utopia are the reference pair of headphones from Focal. They are the result of more than 35 years of innovation development and manufacturing of speakers and loudspeakers in France. As a world first Utopia features the only wide range loudspeaker built within a pair of headphones using pure Beryllium formed in the brand new M shape dome.

I A/B’d them with my personal HD800 S’s on each combination of the gear I listed above and on each one, sub the HDVD800, the ADX5000 sounded, overall, more fuller and complete sounding to my ears. On the HDVD800 they sounded almost identical with the only difference I could really make is the bass of the 5k’s and the soundstage of the 800 being better. and even my own reference HD800 S. It’s not that the ADX5000 has super high extension (which it does in a way) but it’s the way they present the treble that makes them, from memory, the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever looked at on headphones. My my my my my the soul of the music. Focal Utopia I had a chance to compare ATH-ADX5000 with Focal Utopia. Utopia sounds less bright, slightly smoother and warmer while having pretty close level of speed, detail, transparency, and dynamic.
The HD 800 S adds musicality to the legendary precision of HD 800, strengthening its position as the world's finest dynamic headphone. I feel the most resolving, and best imaging headphone in the world is the Sennheiser HD 800.
