Listen to albums and songs from Recess Monkey.

Another kids' music masterpiece, Recess Monkey's "Recess Monkey are arguably the most inventive and imaginative, certainly the most prolific, kids' band around today. Field Trip will cause uncontrollable sing-alongs, elicit knowing snickers by grownups, and inspire knock-knock jokesters around the world. One of the best kids' music CDs of 2009.

Recess Monkey has created several dozen self-produced video works. In tandem with their release of 2009's Field Trip album, they released two 90 minute DVDs in the Field Trips With Recess Monkey series. Each DVD is broken into four short episodes and the volumes are known by their episode numberings, Episodes 1-4 and Episodes 5-8. The DVDs blended music videos with live performances, interviews and were hosted by the band's fictitious hand puppet band manager Mayor Monkey

Field Trip is an album by Canadian rock band The Grapes of Wrath, released in 2000. The album marked the reunion of Kevin Kane and Tom Hooper as songwriting partners and bandmates for the first time since 1991's These Days, although they were the only two original band members to appear on the album. Session musicians filled in the remaining slots left by departing members Chris Hooper and Vincent Jones, including Pete Bourne on drums and Dave Genn on keyboards. The album was also packaged with a bonus disc comprising new renditions of several of the band's older songs

A stand out album for me is Field Trip (released in 2009). I keep going back to it – sometimes when my kids aren’t even around. For any of you new to Recess Monkey, they have a great sound which appeals to kids and adults alike. I think of them as a cross between The Beatles and kindie rocker Justin Roberts. You can check them out live as they are local Seattlites and frequently perform around the Northwest. As for my fave Field Trip, it has a long list of upbeat, ng hits including Fort, Knocktopus, and Haven’t Got a Pet Yet

They have since released 13 albums for family audiences. They perform live concerts throughout the United States with an emphasis on audience participation, energetic dance opportunities and a focus on the entire family. On Sirius XM, Kids Place Live – Channel 78. Notable live performances.

The album includes material from Recess Monkey's Tabby Road Recording Sessions at which kids in the audience were recorded singing live, during two 2008 Seattle shows. Recess Monkey is Daron Henry (percussion and vocals), Jack Forman (bass and vocals), and Drew Holloway (vocals, guitars, and piano. They are teachers of preschool and elementary aged children who met while teaching at the same school in Seattle. A conversation about loose teeth on the way to an ice-skating field trip led to the song Dr. Wiggle. The celebrated occasion of an entire class sitting in a circle, cupcakes in hand, awaiting the birthday celebrant's first bite, led to the first song Birthday Bite. Every song has its roots deeply embedded in the experience of discovering the world through a child's eyes.
