Blast from Your Past is a compilation album by English rock musician Ringo Starr, released on Apple Records in 1975. It is both Starr's first compilation LP and his final release under his contract with EMI. It was also the last album to be released on the Beatles' Apple label until it was revived in the 1990s. The album provides an overview of Starr's most successful period as a solo artist

From 1971 to 1975, Ringo Starr cut a string of seven consecutive Top 10 records, including back-to-back number ones in 1973, and they're all right here! Led by the twin front-runners, "Photograph" and "You're Sixteen", this collection is Ringo at his post-Beatles height. Don't get into a discussion of which of his song's is the best; you'll be in for an argument. Thirty years later, these songs still rock the house.

Performer: Ringo Starr Album: Blast From Your Past Label: Parlophone. Это и первый сборник Ринго и его последний релиз на Apple Records и EMI. В 1976 году Ринго подпишет договор с Atlantic Records в США и с Polydor Records в остальных странах мира.

Within the span of five years, Ringo Starr was able to muster up seven Top Ten singles, with three of them coming from the self-titled Ringo album. Taking all of these tracks and adding three more, Blast From Your Past ends up being a worthy ten-song collection of Starr's best solo tunes. In 1973, Ringo had back-to-back number one hits with both "Photograph," aided by George Harrison's harmony vocals, and the quirky, adolescent-sounding "You're Sixteen," with Harry Nilsson backing him and Paul McCartney playing the kazoo.
