Music video of "Bop Girl" by australian singer and journalist "Pat Wilson".

Pat Wilson (2). Real Name: Patricia Mary Wilson. Pat Wilson (2). Bop Girl (Single, Maxi). PROMO 194. Howard Jones, Pat Wilson (2).

Bop Girl - Pat Wilson. Another awesome Aussie hit from the early 80. 4 years назад. Let's admit it, Nicole Kidman was rather ugly before she went to Hollywood!! Amazing what plastic surgery can d. This is a ridiculous song, I recall it being on the charts in 1983 and the only reason that stupid Pat Wilson was allowed to air this monstrosity is due to her shagging the right husband! 4 years назад. Pat Wilson was the wife of legendary Australian musician Ross "Daddy Cool" Wilson. I have "Bop Girl" running through my head. My non-Aussie friends may not know this classic 80's Aussie song.

What Is Love?" is the second single by musician Howard Jones. Released in 1983, from the album Human's Lib, it reached no. 2 in the UK Singles Chart, becoming the singer's highest chart placing to date. In the US, it peaked at no. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during the summer of 1984.

A smash hit in Australia & SE Asia in 1983 'Bop Girl' also went on to make waves in the USA via the Gillian Armstrong directed video that featured a very young Nicole Kidman & plenty of West Coast radio play as an import. A lag in release time meant it only reached on the Billboard chart but left an indelible impression. Songwriter Ross Wilson (Daddy Cool, Mondo Rock) was inspired to write 'Bop Girl' by the 1957 movie of the same name which he saw on TV in 1969, kept as a prospective song title until 1979 when he wrote & demoed the track with his (then) wife Pat, & finally got recorded in 1983 while riding chart success with his group Mondo Rock (see 'Come. Said The Boy' on CD Baby).

Consumer Guide Album. Pat Wilson: Bop Girl Not related to Mari, though she does camp up her femininity, or Cindy, though this dinky-looking Australian mini wouldn't exist if the B-52's hadn't made trash-pop a joke worth hearing again. Presumably related to coproducer/cowriter Ross. I could go on (the name Ricky Fataar ring any bells?), but this kind of ephemera only endures when it's given the chance to sneak up on you. B+.

Pat Wilson is an Australian singer and journalist. Wilson was a journalist for the 1970s music magazine Go-Set writing under the pen-name Mummy Cool. Usually regarded as a one hit wonder, Wilson released several singles in the early 1980s including the hit single Bop Girl. The song was written by her then husband Ross Wilson of the band Daddy Cool, and its style and lyrics satirised 1980s fashion and pop music. world, including the United States. Subsequent singles failed to repeat this success
