Produced by Rob Barbato. Harlem River, talk to me Tell me what you think about Harlem River I'm in love, love, love, love. Harlem River swallow me Put your hands around my neck Harlem River, I can't breath You've got the lights down now. And Harlem River, give me wings Put my head up in the clouds And Harlem River all because Oh, I know where now. Harlem River, tell me, is it true? That in my pearl and my diamonds I've climbed the cloud, now I store the moon Harlem River, all because of you. I don't know I don't know Just where I'm going Cause I've never been And I don't know Just where I'm going Or where I've been Oh, Harlem River, like a diamond.

Woods bassist and Babies singer Kevin Morby is in a reflective mood on his solo debut, Harlem River. Meandering like the eight-mile-long river of its namesake, the album is a brief journey through the New York that Morby called home for the five years prior to its recording. Now relocated to sunny California, the Kansas City-born Morby made it his first act of business to send a fond farewell to the city that has begun so many careers and inspired so many songs.

As everyone already said, bad press quality. On the plus side it does look like my needle is riding a roller coaster...weeee!

and, of course, of much better quality! ... (price / quality relationship, you know) ... :)

I hope there will be the 5 year reissue which will be much cheaper, let´s say 5 Euro! :)

Have to agree the pressing quality of the vinyl on the two copies I've had has been poor - one with a locked groove and then lots of hiss and crackles across both despite a clean. Shame as the album beneath the surface noise sounds well produced.

Cleaned a new copy with an Audio Desk Pro, which normally clears up surface noise that others complain of on same version of the record. This, however, is full of surface noises, loud scratchy noises, on many tracks. Thumbs down on the quality of this pressing. Sounds fairly rich, but the poor pressing quality sucks.
