It's been one hell of a year for Ghost. Rumors started circulating that the band had canned its entire lineup outside Papa Emeritus when he was the only one to show up to accept a Grammy, and the rumors were fueled even further once Magna Carta.

A lawsuit is a proceeding by a party or parties against another in the civil court of law. The archaic term "suit in law" is found in only a small number of laws still in effect today. The term "lawsuit" is used in reference to a civil action brought in a court of law in which a plaintiff, a party who claims to have incurred loss as a result of a defendant's actions, demands a legal or equitable remedy. The defendant is required to respond to the plaintiff's complaint.
Tool Reveal Longstanding Lawsuit Is Stalling Creation of New Album. For the better part of a decade, Tool fans have been rabid for a new album. And when your band molds such a passionate, almost cult-like fan base, followers can become enraged when new music withdrawals linger for too long.
Last year an unreleased Prince song titled "Deliverance" unexpectedly surfaced online, with an EP of the same name expected to follow. The Prince estate was reportedly unhappy with the existence of the project, filing a federal lawsuit against the EP's co-producer George Ian Boxill. Prince's estate claimed that Boxill was releasing "Deliverance" and a number of other songs without their permission, and now it looks as if they've won the lawsuit against the producer. 65 in damages, costs, and attorney fees.
I think having this lawsuit out of the way should really speed of the progress of getting the album done. Jones also touched upon the level of involvement of vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Keenan used to join the band in studio, but his vocal parts would often have to be rewritten as the band altered their compositions. Jones said he hopes to have an album ready for release by the end of the year, but that they aren’t setting any deadlines for themselves. We’re older guys now, he concluded. Everyone kind of has their own life, and the fire that burned in us when we were in our 20s isn’t there anymore.
An image of pre-lawsuit Ibanez (left) and post-lawsuit Ibanez. Notice the open book Gibson ripoff vs. the second design. The lawsuit was settled out of court, and Ibanez replaced the headstock with a revised design. Ibanez ramped up the quality of its own designs, including set-in-neck copies of solid body and archtop guitars. The only technical lawsuit guitars are Ibanez models, or other branded guitars manufactured by Hoshino, that look nearly identical to Gibson or Fender guitars, save for the name on the headstock and some technical specifications. They mostly originated out of the FujiGen Gakki plant in Japan and were imported to the US. At the same time that Japanese guitar factories were making copies of American designs, they were also tinkering with unique designs of their own.
Rock band Tool is beloved by fans, critically acclaimed and avid players on the touring market. but the "Schism" band hasn't released a new album in eight years; it's last effort 10,000 Days was released on May 2, 2006. Rumors have swirled about tentative release dates, new singles and more for years now but finally the band is coming clean about its oft-delayed fifth studio effort.
Featured Roundup Lawsuit: Dewayne Johnson. Plaintiff Dewayne Johnson is a former school groundskeeper for a California county school system who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after years of using Roundup weed-killer and other glyphosate-based herbicides. According to Johnson, he used the product as many as 30 times per year, and on at least two occasions spilled a substantial amount of the chemical on his body. The company also failed to warn consumers of the potential hazards of the weedkiller, according to Hardeman’s legal complaint. In March 2019, a San Francisco jury decided unanimously in favor of Hardeman, confirming that Roundup was a substantial factor contributing to Hardeman’s lymphoma diagnosis.
