On the Road Again" is a song recorded by the American blues-rock group Canned Heat in 1967. A driving blues-rock boogie, it was adapted from earlier blues songs and includes mid-1960s psychedelic rock elements. Unlike most of Canned Heat's songs from the period, second guitarist and harmonica player Alan Wilson provides the distinctive falsetto vocal
Produced by Dallas Smith. Album Boogie With Canned Heat. On the Road Again Lyrics. Released in 1968 on the aptly titled album Boogie with Canned Heat, On the Road Again is a psychedelic blues song about rambling down the path of life. It’s one of two signature hits for Canned Heat, an LA-based blues-rock outfit founded by Alan Blind Owl Wilson and Bob The Bear Hite. Wilson was the singer, guitarist, harmonica player, and musical mastermind, and he sings lead on both On the Road Again and the group’s other smash, 1969’s Going Out to the Country, known as the unofficial anthem of Woodstock. It kind of all went together. Like many bands that capture the spirit of their times, Canned Heat wasn’t destined to remain in the spotlight for long. Wilson’s recording career lasted just three years, as he died of a drug overdose in September 1970.

the funky good-time update of Wilbert Harrison's "Let's Work Together," the darkly guilded original "On the Road Again," and the cautionary tale of speed freaks on "Amphetamine Annie. Equally copious is the secondary layer of album cuts, including covers of classics such as the traditional "Bullfrog Blues," Muddy Waters' "Rollin' and Tumblin'," and Robert Johnson's "Dust My Broom
