Critically acclaimed CDs - Paul Meyers Quartet featuring Frank Wess (2007) is a relaxed & swinging date with the tanor/flute legend all on the nylon string fingerstyle guitar. Dusk to Dawn (2004), is his 2nd solo guitar CD, a collection of original arrangements of Ellington, Gershwin, Lennon/McCartney, Scott Joplin and more.

Jovino has been nominated twice for a Latin Grammy Award for best Latin Jazz Album, in 2004 and 2006.

DONNY MCCASLIN GROUP (Thursday) On his recent albums Donny McCaslin has applied his assertive tenor saxophone style to Latin American-inspired fusions. He does that here, in a free lunchtime concert, with expert help: the guitarist Lage Lund, the bassist Hans Glawischnig and the drummer Adam Cruz. PAUL MEYERS (Tuesday) World on a String (Miles High) is the lilting new album from the guitarist Paul Meyers, who has experience in mainstream jazz as well as in Brazilian-music circles. Kicking off the festivities is Dumpstaphunk, a New Orleans group led by the drummer Ivan Neville, and featuring (for this performance) the sharp young trumpeter Christian Scott.

Paul Meyers has gained a reputation as one of the top jazz guitarists of our time. With an original technique on the classical guitar he has combined a deep understanding of the jazz tradition with strong influences of Brazilian, Latin and classical music to create a truly unique sound and concept.

I've Got the World on a String is a 1960 album by Louis Armstrong, arranged by Russell Garcia.

Donny McCaslin’s career will forever be divided into two distinct eras: before Blackstar and after. David Bowie famously recruited the jazz saxophonist and his band after catching them at New York’s 55 Bar in 2014, and they would end up backing the icon throughout his final album. Its largely instrumental predecessor, 2016’s Beyond Now, McCaslin’s first post-Blackstar effort, paid homage to Bowie via a couple covers; this new album channels his influence in a less literal yet ultimately more impressive way. On Blow. McCaslin and fellow Blackstar collaborators Jason Lindner, Tim Lefebvre, Mark Guiliana and Ben Monder, among others, step boldly into hybrid, tough-to-classify musical terrain, grafting their trademark sleek, emotive electrojazz onto lush, proggy art rock.
