Scottish indie rock outfit the View's 2012 album Cheeky for a Reason is a slightly more mature outing that still builds upon the rambunctious pop/rock of the band's previous work. With lead singer Kyle Falconer's Highland brogue spearheading the band's mischievous, playful plug-and-play sound, the View have always had a youthful exuberance that was hard to ignore even when the songs weren't quite the most original or memorable things you've ever heard. On Cheeky for a Reason, it's as if the band, which was a Mercury Prize nominee in 2009, finally tapped into.

The new album showcases The View's more chilled, mellow sound on the whole, although the powerhouse indie-rock of their previous efforts aren't lost on some of the album tracks. Cheeky For A Reason' is released on 9th July 2012. Which Bitch? is the second album from Scottish band The View which was released 2 February 2009. Paolo Nutini guests on the track "Covers". Gem of a Bird" is about Kyle Falconer's girlfriend Katie Gwyther, with whom the song is a duet

Cheeky For A Reason is the fourth studio album by British rock band the View, released on 9 July 2012  . In truth, not unlike its three predecessors, Cheeky for a Reason is unadorned lad-rock, its terrace-friendly singalongs pitched between Slade and the Libertines stripped of the self-mythology.
