Crossing the Water Lyrics. Black lake, black boat, two black, cut-paper people. Where do the black trees go that drink here? Their shadows must cover Canada. Their leaves do not wish us to hurry: They are round and flat and full of dark advice. Cold worlds shake from the oar. The spirit of blackness is in us, it is in the fishes.

A low-water crossing (also known as an Irish bridge, causeway in Australia, low-level crossing or low-water bridge) provides a bridge when water flow is low. Under high-flow conditions, water runs over the roadway and precludes vehicular traffic. This approach is cheaper than building a bridge to raise the level of the road above the highest flood stage of a river, particularly in developing countries or in semi-arid areas with rare high-volume rain. Low-water crossings can be dangerous when flooded.

Crossing the Water is Eve's new album, due out for release in January 2003. Filled with more of Eve's trademark eclectic acoustic style, Crossing the Water is sure to cement her reputation as one of Canada¹s foremost singers, songwriters, and interpreters. The album includes songs by some of her favourite songwriters, including Jane Voss, Bill Staines, Iris DeMent, and Tom Paxton, as well as some of her own sparkling originals. The album also includes three songs written by Eve with her producer and musical colleague Ken Whiteley.

This is an important album for me, containing several substantial pieces that are very close to my heart. The programme consists of eight pieces that span my compositional career, from Three improvisations for solo oboe (1963) to Shadows cross the water (2016).

Crossing the Water is a 1971 posthumous collection of poetry by Sylvia Plath that was prepared for publication by Ted Hughes. These are transitional poems that were written along with the poems that appear in her poetic opus, Ariel. The collection was published in the United Kingdom by Faber & Faber (1975) and in the United States by Harper & Row (1976). The poems here tend to dwell on one's state of being in an environment

Crossing Water, Flint, Michigan. The real unjust shitty world that I spend most of my mental and emotional time in. Going to Flint, and being in a place where I am not insulated from what reality looks like for the exploited, marginalized, neglected, screwed people of this world, has meant that once a week my physical body is in a place that is congruent.

Black lake, black boat, two black, cut-paper people. Third Tercet: Vital Water. A snag is lifting a valedictory, pale hand; As the oars move the boat through the black water, the speaker perceives that water falling from the oars morphs into "cold worlds. The earth that is made of three-fourths water is but a drop that the oarsman might shake from the oar as he moves the boat through the dark water. The speaker then concludes that this somber scene reveals the "blackness" that is in each human being. These poems were written at the same time as those that appear in Ariel. Crossing the Water continues to push the envelope between dark and light, between our deep passions and desires that are often in tension with our duty to family and society. Water becomes a metaphor for the surface veneer that many of us carry, but Plath explores how easily this surface can be shaken and disturbed.
