Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart had a powerful influence on the work of Ludwig van Beethoven. They are said to have met in Vienna in 1787, and Beethoven is said to have had a few lessons from Mozart. Beethoven knew much of Mozart's work. Some of his music recalls Mozart's, he composed several variations on Mozart's themes and he modeled a number of his compositions on those of the older composer.

Mozart, W. Beethoven,. has been added to your Cart. Drawn from various duos by Beethoven and Mozart, this album is substantive, and showcases a wide stylistic breadth of late eighteenth century German instrumental music, from the sumptuous levity of the divertimento, to the full brilliance of sonata form. The pieces in this recording have never been paired together.

Beethoven in my opinion has made far superior music to Mozart while he was deaf, yet Mozart never wrote second drafts of his music. It was perfect the first time. Here are my questions to see others opinions. My opinion has always been that Beethoven has more far reaching impact than Mozart. Mozart may have gotten his music perfect the first time, but that is irrelevant if it doesn't speak to me (although much of it does. . Who is the bigger "genius" in your opinion and why?
