Robyn is the fourth studio album by Swedish singer Robyn. It was released on April 27, 2005 by Konichiwa Records. The album represented a departure from Robyn's previous urban and R&B musical style, and explored synth-pop and dance-pop music, with inspirations from electronic duo The Knife and rock band Teddybears. It also marks Robyn's first album release on her own record label, Konichiwa Records, which she founded in 2004.

Robyn presents her first solo album in eight years subtly, with slight builds and light hands. But her masterful command of emotions on the dancefloor slowly reveals itself across another enthralling record. Featured Tracks: Play Track. Missing U - RobynVia SoundCloud. Robyn’s work urges on our braver selves. Without sermonizing, she shows us the dignity in our sorrow-throwing her heartbreak onto the dance floor, gulping in its neon glow like photosynthesis. Through her music, we discover our loneliest moments are no longer just valleys to suffer and endure: They are deeper, even beautiful,.

Regarding the album's lyrical inspiration, Robyn told Pete Lewis of Blues & Soul in March 2008: "I think the biggest lyrical inspiration for this album was going back to when I was like 15 and on the subway listening to hip hop. Back then-because I didn't know many people in Sweden who knew about rap, it was like my own music world-where the lyrics were very direct.
It is eight years since Robyn last released an album. This, naturally, is not considered best practice in pop music, a world where attention spans are short and memories shorter still: stay away too long, and on your return you’ll find some young pretender parked in the space you thought was reserved for you. But Robyn established some time ago that the normal rules do not apply to her. Her last album opened with a track called Don’t Fucking Tell Me What to Do. And besides, she’s pulled off the curious trick of seeming present in pop even while absent.
Robyn - Honey The Swedish pop star Robyn has long had an affinity with club music. She began working with The Knife in 2003 as she broke away from conventional pop and started her own label, Konichiwa Records, a couple years later. Since releasing 2010's Body Talk, a pop album loaded with clubby synths, she has collaborated with Röyksopp and Mr. Tophat and released a poppy house EP as La Bagatelle Magique, with keyboardist Markus Jägerstedt and the late Swedish producer and DJ Christian Falk, with whom Robyn had worked since she was 15.
However, Robyn continues to make the trends instead of following them, and with Honey, she enters her forties with some of her most emotionally satisfying and musically innovative music. Robyn's deepest, grooviest, most cohesive and most personally revealing album. In fact, I will go ahead and say its her best. Dancing On My Own" is pretty much the song of the decade, and there's no one song on this album that's quite in that 11-out-of-10 stratosphere, but as a whole, this is so much more detailed, engrossing, and luxuriant than any previous Robyn LP.
