The Hoople is a 1974 album by British band Mott the Hoople. It was the only album to feature guitarist Ariel Bender (who replaced Mick Ralphs following his departure to form Bad Company), and the last album to feature vocalist Ian Hunter before his departure for a solo career.

Honaloochie Boogie' was first attempted in the new CBS studios at Whitfield Street in October 1972, and then later in February 1973 at Air Studios during sessions for the Mott album. The UK single was issued on 25 May 1973, and was originally planned to have a picture sleeve. It reached in the UK charts. Once again, Richard Weaver was tapped to direct a promotional film, which was done in a basement room near Hyde Park. The band appeared on Top of the Pops in June to promote the single, with Andy Mackay in the lineup.
Mott the Hoople are an English rock band with strong R&B roots, popular in the glam rock era of the early to mid-1970s. They are best known for the song "All the Young Dudes", written for them by David Bowie and appearing on their 1972 album of the same name. Mott the Hoople were formed in 1966 as the Doc Thomas Group with Mick Ralphs on guitar, Stan Tippins on vocals, and Pete Overend Watts on bass.
