The untitled seventh studio album by German Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein, also referred to eponymously as Rammstein, was released through Universal Music on 17 May 2019. Their first studio album in ten years, it is their first not to be produced by Jacob Hellner; it was instead produced by Emigrate band member Olsen Involtini. The album was preceded by two singles, "Deutschland" and "Radio", the former becoming their second number-one song in Germany. Ausländer" was released as a single on 31 May.

Rammstein's Till Lindemann (left) and Richard Z. Kruspe, 2016. We flew to Los Angeles to mix the record with Rich Costey, who has worked with Muse and a bunch of other big bands," he told the site of the successor to the band's 2009 record Liebe ist für alle da, adding "I feel really happy with the album, although a few things might still change, of course

Biography: Rammstein was formed in 1993 by an ensemble of factory-weary proletarians raised in East Germany. They took their name (adding an "m") from the location of a German tragedy where 80 people were injured and killed as the result of a crash during an American Air Force air show. The literal translation of "Ram Stein" is a battering ram made of stone. Scaling the German charts, and remaining there until the release of the second Rammstein LP some two years later, the album also introduced the band to the world outside of the Austria region. As Rammstein's second album, SEHNSUCHT (English: Longing), was released, the band was playing headlines shows across Europe to crowds of 10,000 to 30,000 people. SEHNSUCHT entered the German charts at number one immediately upon its release and came very close to doing the same in Austria and Switzerland.

Rammstein's album Mutter was recorded in the south of France in May and June 2000, and mixed in Stockholm in October of that year. 2001 was a busy year for Rammstein, starting in January and February with the band playing the Big Day Out festival in Australia and New Zealand. Rammstein recorded Reise, Reise (meaning "journey, journey", or as a command "travel, travel", but also an archaic Reveille) at the El Cortijo studio in southern Spain in November and December 2003; it was mixed at Toytown studio in Stockholm, Sweden in April and May 2004.

After 16 eventful years, Rammstein released their first greatest-hits collection in 2011. Made in Germany 1995-2011 included a disc of their biggest songs (and new track "Mein Land") as well as a remix album and DVDs of all their music videos (and the making-ofs). In the years that followed, they would continue to play one-off dates and headline festivals around the world. Another concert video, Rammstein: Paris, made a run in cinemas in 2016 before seeing widespread release the following year as a DVD and live album. In 2019, a decade after their previous release, the band unveiled.
