Sound of White Noise is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Anthrax, released in May 1993 on Elektra Records.

Anthrax - Sound Of White Noise (1993).

Sound of White Noise is the sixth studio album by American thrash metal band Anthrax, released in May 1993 on Elektra Records. It is the band's first album to feature vocalist John Bush, who replaced longtime Anthrax vocalist Joey Belladonna in 1992. It is also Anthrax's last studio album with longtime lead guitarist Dan Spitz. This was also the second album Bush worked with producer Dave Jerden, as he also produced Symbol of Salvation for Bush's previous band, Armored Saint.

Anthrax replaced longstanding vocalist Joey Belladonna with John Bush (of Armored Saint) and released the surprisingly melodic and predictably pummeling Sound of White Noise. Producer Dave Jerden, who had worked with Bush on the last Armored Saint disc as well as releases for Alice in Chains and Jane's Addiction, helped Anthrax channel its energy into the shape of the post-Seattle metal sound. Released May 25, 1993. Sound of White Noise Tracklist. 1. Potter's Field Lyrics.

Anthrax's sixth album, Sound of White Noise, ends a period of consistent commercial success on a high note. The album marks a transition for the band in a couple of different ways. After frontman Joey Belladonna was acrimoniously dismissed from the band, Anthrax hired John Bush of Armored Saint to be their new frontman. This marked a transition of frontmen, and John would have the longest consectutive tenure with the group. He's a great fit right from the get go of this album, even if his voice is a bit lower key than Belladonna's.

Sound of White Noise" was an album I picked up early on in my music purchasing days, and at the time I got immense enjoyment out of it. Needless to say, with age comes maturity and realization that conforming to trends in the name of survival as an artist is hardly a respectable reason for recording and promoting anything below what your band is capable o. This album offers very memorable choruses and melodies, and is a sound addition in the Anthrax discography. Songs such as C11 H17 N2 O2 S Na, offer an aggressive drum and guitar solo approach, Black Lodge. offers a softer, more melodic approach, and Hy Pro Glo, mixes the two techniques to make this album well rounded. Sound of White Noise is a fine Traditional Melodic Thrash Metal album.

Anthrax released 'Sound of White Noise' in May 1993. Joey Belladonna was fired from Anthrax in 1992, and when he left, he took the shorts, the comic-book references and the teenage sloganeering with him. After having made their name as the lightest-hearted of the leading thrash metal bands of the ‘80s, everything was to change with the arrival of new singer John Bush. And while not all of it was change for the better, they certainly set out with force on Sound of White Noise, which released on May 25, 1993. We were going through, let’s say, a metamorphosis, drummer Charlie Benante said years later. We were actually saying goodbye to the past.
