The Beatles first ever appearance in Canada took place at Empire Stadium in Vancouver on August 22, 1964, before some 20,000 fans. Radio station CKNW covered the event, right from the afternoon press conference until they made their getaway at the end of the show. The situation at field level was chaotic throughout as is evident on listening to the scenes described by the reporters on location. The source of the audio is a double vinyl bootleg album I purchased at Beatle Week in Liverpool a few years ago. The four segments last 5-6 minutes each.
