Adelina Doris Monteiro (born October 23, 1934 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian singer and actress. In 1949, she was discovered as a singer on the program Carbon Paper by Renato Murce, radio National in Rio de Janeiro. In 1951, while a student in Colegio Dom Pedro II, she was invited to sing on Radio Guanabara, then went on to Radio Tupi, where she stayed for 8 years.

Graças a Deus - Single. About Doris Monteiro. Dóris Monteiro has had over 50 years of a career filled with success, both as a singer and as an actress. One of the earliest singers to interpret the bossa nova, Monteiro has recorded over 20 solo LPs. At 13 (in 1947), Dóris Monteiro had her debut on radio in the novice show Papel Carbono at the Rádio Nacional. She won the weekly contest for several weeks in a row. In the next year she started to work regularly in the Rádio Tupi. In 1951 she recorded her first album, the 78 rpm Se Você Se Importasse (Peter Pan), which stayed in first place in the charts for three months.
