Sattalites is a Canadian reggae group. They came together over twenty years ago in Toronto, Ontario as a music school; from then they have flourished across Canada as a very influential reggae group. They signed with the Canadian record label Solid Gold Records early in their career and have been with them ever since. The worldly vibe that they emit comes from a wide variety of instruments and vocals and their peaceful attitude towards life.

The Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album is an award presented at the Grammy Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1985 and originally called the Gramophone Awards, to recording artists for quality works in the reggae music genre.
Leader Fergus Hambleton has been fixture on the Canadian music scene for the last four decades. The Sattalites (the name is derived from legendary Jamaican ska band The Skatalites) will be performing as an 8 piece, with a 3-piece horn section and an original member recently returned to Canada.
MOJO SAYS: The best early sides from Brentford Road studio’s haunting, unsettling, honey-sweet tenor. 42. Garnet Silk – It's Growing (Live). MOJO SAYS: The first spiritually elevating and PC dancehall album – a classic. 41. John Holt – 1,000 Volts Of Holt. 13. Don Drummond - The Best Of. MOJO SAYS: Minor-key retort to ska’s in-built jolliness from The Skatalites’ deeply troubled composer, trombonist and melodist. Peerless songs, breathtaking musicianship and, 40 years on, still box fresh. Jamaica’s failing economy in the ’70s meant recycling was a part of every day life, so it followed that, with studio time and recording tape expensive, producers like Lee Perry and King Tubby began taking old backing tracks and remixing them into sonically crackpot but undeniably brilliant ‘dubs’.
