Santessa's debut, DELIRIUM, came at a time when female-fronted trip-hop was dominating electronic music, and even though her album follows many of those tropes: slow, loping beats and sweet strings, she still manages to squeak out a small space for herself. Phased" has a touch of grace from its guitar line, while "Sometimes" goes for an easy listening vibe, helped in no small part by Santessa's airy, breathy delivery. Eyes on You" veers into dub, letting her vocals take on more solid ground, and "Best Thing" brings in a R&B groove

Not to be confused with Delirium or Delirium (band). Delerium founder Bill Leeb in 2016. They are also featured on two tracks from Delerium's 2006 album, Nuages du Monde. Although it may be argued that Front Line Assembly has the largest cult following of all Leeb and associates projects, Delerium is undoubtedly the most financially successful. In addition to these two mainstays, related projects of the Leeb, Fulber, Peterson, Balch family include Equinox, Intermix, Noise Unit, Pro-Tech, and Synæsthesia, among others.

DELIRIUM is a Rock Progressivo Italiano, Progressive Rock artist from Italy. Their first album, the rough-hewn ''Dolce Acqua'' (1971), was one of the earliest Italian progressive albums and is a conceptual suite with each of its eight movements being based on different human emotions. The album is mainly acoustic in nature and is dominated by Ivano Fossati, the prominence of whose flute has drawn comparisons with Ian Anderson. While ''Dolce Acqua'' undoubtedly has a strong folk atmosphere, Fossati's flute is really the only similarity with JETHRO TULL.

Santessa's debut, DELIRIUM, came at a time when female-fronted trip-hop was dominating electronic music, and even though her album follows many of those tropes: slow, loping beats and sweet strings, she still manages to squeak out a small space for herself. "Phased" has a touch of grace from its guitar line, while "Sometimes" goes for an easy listening vibe, helped in no small part by Santessa's airy, breathy delivery. "Eyes on You" veers into dub, letting her vocals take on more solid ground, and "Best Thing" brings in a R&B groove. But the delicacy of "Too Late," replete with saxophone, helps carry the album along, and "Irresistible" lets a hint of funk in. Dub house rules the day on "Space," while the final track, "Nowhere" swims in a sweetness. As good as this album is, it doesn't quite elevate itself above others of its ilk.
