Her 1994 album for Giant Records found her being pushed a little too forcibly toward the country mainstream; still, on occasion, the specialness of her hard-country twang shined through. With Trouble Free, she fulfills her promise with soaring beauty. Rhonda-the queen of bluegrass takes a brief detour with this album. And what a treat it is too!Although Rhonda has always incorporated country into her bluegrass music, which is what makes her sound so great!! I love everything about this album. It's pure toe tapping traditional 90's country at it's very best. She begins things with the simply fantastic uptempo Somebody(which features Alison Krauss on harmonies). Other great uptempos are the title track Trouble Free,An Old Memory Found It's Way Back Home Again(she would later record a bluegrass version of this.
