John Lennon talks about the compilation Red and Blue albums and how he only wanted the great George Martin to work on them.
The Beatles' UK discography was first released on CD in 1987 and 1988. The first four albums were released in mono only, while the remaining albums were issued in only stereo. a b c The album also contains songs by George Martin and His Orchestra. Parlophone instead issued a double EP. Parlophone eventually issued the album in the UK on 19 November 1976 - 1962–1966 ("The Red Album"). Released: 2 April 1973.
1962–1966 (also known as "The Red Album") is a compilation album by the English rock band the Beatles, spanning the years indicated in the title. Released with its counterpart 1967–1970 ("The Blue Album") in 1973, it reached No. 3 in the United Kingdom and No. 1 in the United States Cash Box album chart. However, in Billboard, 1962–1966 peaked at No. 3, while 1967–1970 reached the top spot. The album was re-released in September 1993 on compact disc, charting at No. 3 in the UK.
The Blue Album brought together 28 Beatles hits, from their 1967 single Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever to Let It B. Allen Klein drew up a list of songs to include on the Red and Blue albums, and offered to give the former Beatles the chance to veto the selection. Unlike 1962-1966, the Blue Album contained songs written by George Harrison and Ringo Starr, as well as those by Lennon-McCartney.
Only two Beatles albums were over that mark when their label audited the catalog, very precisely both Red and Blue LPs. Years 1980-1981 were good in sales column because of the tragic murder of John Lennon, each album adding over 20% to their tally. With the market going down from 1982 and the absence of a CD version decreased the interest in those compilations from mid-80s, catalog sales went downhill as the decade advanced. We can see it with Red and Blue reissues in CD. Both albums stormed into charts with the former entering at blocked only by the latter that first topped charts 20 years after the original release. Since, they remained pretty solid catalog sellers and got boosted strongly by 2010 remasters as well.
Martin acknowledged the long standing reputation that The White Album wasn’t a true Beatles album, with four individuals working separately (and Ringo Starr famously AWOL for a period during the recording sessions). A lot of people have said that The BEATLES is the sound of the Beatles breaking up. I don’t hear that. The sounds on the record are the sounds of a band in the studio. You can’t make an album like that if you’re not getting on. Apple.
Red and Blue Albums - Компиляция на двухдисковых сетах, красный и синий альбом: сборники лучших песен величайшей группы. В Красном альбоме композиции 1962-1966 годов, а в Синем - 1967-1970-х. Особенность этой компиляции в том, что при записи использовались исключительно original masters, и то, что подготовлены оригиналы были Beatles’ manager Allen Klein, а также то, что в коллекции присутствуют несколько редких обработок, включая "From Me to You" и "Let It Be", которые, никогда не были выпущены на официальных альбомах Beatles. Все песни собраны в хронологическом порядке. The Beatles, Blue Album 1967-1970 (CD 1). Used drive : ASUS DRW-2014L1T Adapter: 2 ID: 2. Martin is the son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin, and he’s lately been returning to the treasure trove of original recording sessions to remix key albums by John, Paul, George and Ringo. It’s really nerve-racking because it’s a legacy of music which is really important, the soft-spoken Martin said. It coincides with celebrations for the album’s 50th birthday. Besides punchier, remixed versions of the 30 songs on the original double album, the anniversary package includes 27 acoustic demos of material the Beatles made at Harrison’s house before going into the studio and 50 studio outtakes, including the unreleased Not Guilty, a studio jam of Blue Moon and early versions of Let It Be, ″Lady Madonna and Across the Universe, which. would appear on other albums.
