Alto saxophonist Kenny Shanker is back with his third studio album, "The Witching Hour. With his longtime rhythm section, Mike Eckroth (piano), Daisuke Abe (guitar), Yoshi Waki (bass), and Brian Fishler (drums), Shanker presents twelve exciting new original compositions. Like his previous releases, Shanker blends hard-hitting, straight-ahead jazz with traces of various other genres, including classical and rock

Kenny Shanker is a saxophonist, pianist, vocalist, and award-winning composer  . at´s as warm as the smooth compositions he's put together with this quintet, which also features the well-rounded talents of pianist Mike Eckroth and guitarist Daisuke Abe, both of whom receive enough solo spaces so as to not sway the focus from. Kenny Shanker has a rich and full sound on his alto sax as he brings some vintage hard bop to the table with some originals.

KENNY SHANKER is a hard bop post-fusion contemporary music artist. His first album, Steppin’ Up, was released on September 6, 2011 on Posi-Tone Records. Todd Barkan, Programming Director at Jazz at Lincoln Center, hailed it as a masterful recording with a tremendous amount of heart and soul. Witching Hour is the third studio album by English electronic music band Ladytron. It was released on 3 October 2005 by Island Records. The album was promoted by four singles: "Sugar", "Destroy Everything You Touch", "Weekend" and "Soft Power". This album ranked at number 23 on Pitchfork's "Top 50 Albums of 2005", and at number 48 on NME's "Albums and Tracks of the Year 2005".

Kenny Shanker is a saxophonist, pianist, vocalist, and award-winning composer. He grew up in Pleasanton, CA and began playing piano when he was two years old. Bob Bernotas of Just Jazz called him a talented player and writer to watch very closely. Kenny has released three recordings as a leader. In 2014, he released Action City, his second album for Posi-Tone. Bop n Jazz called it ridiculously good and The Jazz Page called it an outstanding exposition of the writing chops that won the California native an ASCAP award for composition in recent years. Recently, Kenny released his latest recording, The Witching Hour, for Wise Cat Records. Kenny has performed with the New World Symphony, Richard Bona, David Benoit, Shelly Berg, Lage Lund, Taylor Eigsti, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, R&B singer, Shannon, Martin Fry, and many others.
