His most recent compilations have included the now deleted Fame, Jon Savage's Secret History Of Post-Punk 78-81 on Caroline True Records. His latest curated release on the same label is Perfect Motion, Jon Savage's Secret History Of Second Wave Psychedelia 1988–1993. Also a limited double-vinyl release, this collection posited late eighties/early nineties "Baggy" music as a slight return to the ethos of 60s psychedelia. Savage's book, Teenage: The Prehistory of Youth Culture, was published in 2007.

Some cracking extended mixes are present in the form of Shack's woozy I Know You Well and the DNA Groove Mix of Electronic's sublime Get The Message, plus some select singles (Box Set Go by The High included) and album tracks from Primal Scream and Sabres of Paradise.

Jon Savage’s This Searing Light, the Sun and Everything Else documents the formation, brief life and sudden end of the phenomenal Manchester, England, band Joy Division. Much has been written about this band; some of the sharpest music writers have given their best trying to capture its essence. As brilliant as some of this work is, Joy Division seems to remain in the shadows, just out of reach of critical assessment.
