The Awakening by Powerlord, released 19 August 2014 1. Masters of Death 2. Malice 3. Silent Terror 4. The Invasion of the Lords 5. Merciless Titans 6. (The Awakening) Powerlord Powerlord was one of those bands that popped up out of nowhere and completely fell off into obscurity. Out of all of the rare 80’s US Metal gems, Powerlord is arguably the very best at what they do. They straddle somewhere between Savage Grace and Slayer. You can just tell these guys were perfectionists back then and as far as the songwriting, this album is completely flawless. We were able to re-master this directly from the original master tapes, but since a lot of their memories were lost when High Vaultage Records (an obscure German label) tried to re-issue the album, there’s not much in the way of bonus, band photos, or memorabilia that we could include in the package.

While the remastering job doesn't bring The Awakening completely into the realm of modernity, it makes this album so much more listenable and enjoyable. The riffs and vocals are sharper and the rhythm section no longer sounds hollow; it really makes a huge difference in the listening experience here
